Mutual Aid: Artist Support & Materials Assistance Program
A Community-Focused Initiative by Campana Studios

Supporting Artists Through Materials Access, Guidance, and Community Resources
Mutual Aid is Campana Studios’ ongoing program designed to reduce material and financial barriers for visual artists by providing essential supplies, professional guidance, and shared community resources. The program strengthens studio practices, supports the creation of new work, and uplifts the diverse voices that make up the San Diego County arts ecosystem. Developed with equity and accessibility at its core, Mutual Aid offers meaningful support to artists across backgrounds, career stages, and artistic disciplines. The program recognizes that materials access is a foundational part of sustaining a creative practice—and that even small interventions can significantly impact an artist’s ability to explore, experiment, and grow.
Program Overview
Mutual Aid provides participating artists with:
- Materials assistance tailored to their studio needs
- An introductory workshop focused on community, resource sharing, and the practical needs of working artists
- A one-on-one meeting with Campana’s Program Manager to identify what materials or resources would be most impactful
- Opportunities to build community with other artists and expand their professional network.
This program is intentionally flexible and evolves each year, allowing Campana to respond to the changing needs of the region’s artists.
